Harris Tweed (Cló Mór in gaelic) must be is dyed, blended, spun and hand woven on a treadle loom only in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Only fabric that is produced in this way can be stamped with the iconic Harris Tweed Orb of authentication. Harris Tweed is the only fabric to be protected by an act of Parliament which ensures authenticated Harris tweed is produced in the correct manner.
